Australia breaks Pakistan’s spirit, cleans up in T20 series

Pakistan confronted rout in the third and last match of the T20 series against Australia As a result of this loss, Pakistan was completely swept in the T20 series. Prior to the T20 series, a three-match ODI series was played between the two countries, which Pakistan won.

The last match of the three-match T20 series between Australia and Pakistan took place at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. In this match held on November 18 (Monday), Australia achieved victory by seven wickets. The host team was set a target of 117 runs, which they accomplished in just 11.2 overs.

Marcus Stoinis made a significant impact in the run chase for Australia. Stoinis scored an unbeaten 61 runs off only 27 balls, including five sixes and five fours. Meanwhile, captain Josh Inglis scored 27 runs off 24 balls with the help of four fours. Jake Fraser-McGurk also contributed with an innings of 18 runs. For the Pakistani team, fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi, Jhandad Khan, and Abbas Afridi each took one wicket.

 

Pakistani team collapses after a good start

Earlier, Pakistan, batting first after winning the toss, had a solid start. At one point, Pakistan’s score was 61 runs for one wicket in 6.4 overs. However, after that, Pakistan lost momentum and their last 9 wickets fell for just 57 runs. The entire team folded for 117 runs in 18.1 overs. Babar Azam was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 41 runs off 28 balls, including four fours.

Apart from Babar Azam, only wicketkeeper Hasanullah Khan (24), Shaheen Afridi (16*), and Irfan Khan (10) reached double figures. For Australia, Aaron Hardie was the leading wicket-taker with three wickets, while Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa picked up two wickets each. Nathan Ellis and Javier Bartlett also took one wicket each.
