Hypersonic Missile: DRDO Successfully Tests Long-Range Hypersonic Missile

National Desk: On November 16, 2024, DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) successfully tested its long-range Hypersonic Missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the shore of Odisha. This test marks a significant step in India’s defense sector, further strengthening the country’s advanced military capabilities.

Features of the Hypersonic Missile

This hypersonic missile is designed for the Indian Armed Forces and is capable of carrying various payloads over a distance of more than 1500 km. The rocket was followed by different reach frameworks, and the information got during the test exhibited fruitful terminal moves and contact with high exactness. Additionally, the hypersonic missile has the capability to travel at speeds exceeding 5 Mach (i.e., 6174 km/hour). At this speed, detecting and intercepting the missile becomes extremely challenging.
