Former Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was bought by Lucknow Super titans for Rs 27 crore in the IPL 2025 transaction at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah on Sunday’s shot was the loftiest in the event’s history.
The first shot was instantly made by the Lucknow Super titans( LSG), but it was met with strong opposition from Royal contenders Bangalore( RCB). The pedal flew presto and the price crossed Rs 10 crore. As this figure grew, it came clear that Pant’s significance goes far beyond his fur and maintaining chops; He’s a natural leader and match- winner.
Sunrisers Hyderabad( SRH) paid Rs. 10.5 crore to join the platoon against LSG. flings increased snappily, reaching an each- time high of Rs 20 crore. LSG, committed to securing Pant, raised the stakes further, taking it to Rs. 20.75 crore.

Just when the bidding sounded to be reaching its peak, Delhi centrals( DC) shortly claimed Pant using their Right to Match( RTM) card. still, LSG redressed by bidding Rs 27 crore- the loftiest ever bid in the event’s history, forcing DC to back out and set a new standard for IPL deals.
IPL 2025 Auction
Pant, who captained Delhi centrals for three seasons, was released from the platoon ahead of the mega transaction as the platoon retained four players- Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abhishek Porel.
The swashbuckling wicketkeeper- batsman has played 111 IPL games in his career and scored 3284 runs with 18 fifties and one century.
Pant’s shot caught that of former Kolkata Knight Riders( KKR) Indian Premier League( IPL) 2024 winning captain Shreyas Iyer, who was vended to Punjab lords for Rs. 26.75 crore on the opening day.
